Early Childhood Education and Care is an expanding industry for those with a genuine interest and passion in the care and education of young children up to the age of 5 years. The childcare industry is demanding higher qualifications and training from educators in this field to ensure consistently high standards of education and care for children placed in these services. This can be achieved by completing the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

You'll learn how to interact and foster the development of the children while working within legal requirements and ensuring the children's health and safety are not at risk.

You will work closely with children from different backgrounds and cultures and provide care and support for them in various child care situations.

Our Certificate II in Community Services gives you real-life exposure to the diversity of community care and support services in your local community – youth, aged, disability, health and social services. It’s your entry point in learning how the community service and care sector operates and how to support clients with a diverse range of needs. The completion of the Certificate II in Community Services will open up a world of possibilities for students who can apply for further training pathways of their interest, including youth work, education support, early childhood education and care, disability care, aged care, health services and nursing.

Make a difference to the lives of others

This qualification focuses on providing assessment and support to clients with alcohol and drug issues as well as implementing health promotion and community intervention programs. You will learn about interviewing in the initial client assessment and study preventative, educational and other community strategies relevant to the field.

Gain these skills:

• Work with people who are intoxicated
• Provide withdrawal services
• Develop an understanding of the legal and ethical requirements for working in drug and alcohol support services

When you complete the Certificate III in Community Services you'll be on your way to a career as a youth worker, support worker, or family carer.

You will gain the knowledge and skills to communicate and work effectively and appropriately with individuals and groups in a variety of settings, gathering and providing information, advocacy and community development, ethical behaviour and legal responsibilities.

You will also gain an understanding of mental health, alcohol, drug, and domestic violence services.
