When you complete this Certificate II in Building and Construction pre-apprenticeship you'll be what employers are looking for as an apprentice painter and decorator.
You will gain the following knowledge and skills to work effectively in the building industry:
- painting techniques
- interpreting plans
- preparing surfaces
- calculating the right amount of materials for the job
- working with scaffolding safely at heights and
- workplace health and safety
Painting and decorating is known as the finishing trade, encompassing both residential and commercial areas. It can include new constructions as well as restoring historically significant buildings.
Your qualification prepares you for roles such as:
Successful completion of this qualification provides you with the opportunity to become an apprentice in a finishing trade but you must be registered with The Apprenticeship Office and be employed.

VET Student Loans
VET Student Loans is the new program that replaces the current VET FEE HELP scheme.
