This twelve-month course is the last stage on your pathway towards a career in Animation and Visual Effects. This course is designed for students who have completed the CUA51020-AC87 – Diploma of Screen and Media (Animation and Visual Effects) or university media graduates.

A large proportion of this course has you working in a studio environment on real professional productions for industry including TV series and feature films. You’ll also highly refine your skills in 3D animation2D animationsound, and writing
You will learn new skills in pre-visualization and virtual production, and undertake the process of developing an idea and pitching it.
Graduates take with them a high-level showreel comprising of AAA level workfeature film credits, experience working with real production clients, and the skills and confidence to work in the Animation and Visual Effects industry.

Become a confident entry level animator

Continuing on from the CUA41220-AC86 - Certificate IV in Screen and Media (Animation and Visual Effects) you will further refine your skills in 3D animation, 2D animation, post production and visual effects, sound, and writing.
You will be introduced to Real-time rendering and Virtual environments using the Unreal game engine, you'll also gain skills to prepare you for working as an artist in the industry, and undertake your first animation production in a team environment.
Upon completion you will be ready to enter the next stage: CUA60620-AC88 – Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Animation and Visual Effects).

New students who have not studied the course that precedes this qualification should contact the area to ensure they apply for the correct level of study.
