The Certificate IV in Education Support will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to assist the teaching staff in schools and provide care, instruction and supervision in kindergarten, pre-primary, primary and secondary school. You will learn how to implement planned education programs, assist students in their learning and development, contribute to the safety and health of students and support students with additional needs and disabilities. You will also learn how to work with children and young people at risk of harm, work effectively with culturally diverse students, families and co-workers.

Certificate IV in Education Support students are required to obtain a Working with Children Check and a Department of Education Police Clearance. Students under the age of 18 will be required to complete the WA Department of Education Confidential Declaration Form.

Certificate I in General Education for Adults (Introductory)

This CGEA course aims to provide a general education. That is, initial skill development in reading, writing and numeracy and skill development in a variety of areas to meet personal needs and to facilitate participation in the community, or other workplace and further education and training. On successful completion of this course a participant will be able to: - clarify project goals with an appropriate support person, plan, carry out and evaluate a project - develop and document a personal study plan and gather a portfolio of evidence with support - read and interpret short, explicit and personally relevant texts - create simple, personally relevant texts - apply simple mathematical knowledge in familiar and everyday situations.

There are no entrance requirements as such but a pre enrolment interview is required and enrolment is available throughout the year. Please contact the area of study for an appointment.
